I Corinthians 1:21 "For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe." (Reference vss II Corinthians 1:12, I Cor 1:17,18; 3:19)
When people need to be set free or are bound up in sin of this world, the wisdom of this world cannot get the job done.
Jesus can set you free, if you cry out to Him.
It doesn't matter how smart you are, how well you know the Bible, how good you speak in front of a crowd: If you do not have the anointing of God, you cannot get the job done.
Acts 17:16-21 At the sight of rampant idolatry and sin in the city, his spirit was stirred (not in a good way).
We may not have stone or wooden idols today, but this world has idols.
How long has it been since you've been stirred by the rampant sin going on in your church? Are you ready to do something about it?
When will you be stirred up by the condition of your church?
We need to be stirred up by:
We need to be stirred to the point of doing somehting about it.
To get the church, country and nation straightened we must first start in the church.
There will be those who will believe and those who will not believe.
How long is it going to take for the church of today to be stirred up enough to take the gospel outside of its' walls into the world?
The gospel being preached today is not the gospel of the New Testament.
When the Word of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ is truly preached it will:
The true gospel (the gospel of Acts) is new to most people in today's church.
The people of today's church need the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
Acts 17:22-34
To those who want to know (ref vs 19) what the gospel means"
Churches of today do not want to hear about Jesus. Churches of today are more concerned with:
Christians need to be stirred by the bad condition of the church today. The church doesn't need a new fad or gimmick, it needs something new from the throne room of God!
Many people will hear the gospel and ignore it (ref vs 34). Again there will be those who believe and those who will not believe.
What we do know is that the Blood of Christ will set us free. Salvation and eternal life is gimmick free.

Our foundation is laid upon the principles of biblical holiness. Even before the church experienced the outpouring of the Holy Ghost, it's roots were set in the holiness revival of the past century. It was and is, a holiness church--holiness in fact and holiness in name. The passing of 18 years has not diminished our holiness position or convictions. The years have, instead, strengthened our knowledge that without holiness it is impossible to please God. We hereby remind ourselves that the Scriptures enjoin us at all times to examine our own hearts. Conditions of our day desperately require it. The basic doctrines of the church have remained constant since the inception of the church."
--ONE NATION UNDER GOD--
God's law is supreme, however we are to obey the laws of our country insofar as they are not in conflict with obedience to God (Acts 5:29). When it becomes necessary to disagree with practices and requirements of government, we should do so out of a concern for the promotion of righteousness and not out of delight in discord and controversy.
