The Anger of God

A Different Side of God

Everyone knows that God is a God of love; however there is a side of God that many do not want to hear about. Many people do not want to to talk about or deal with this different side of God. In the Old Testament, they stood up and told the prophets to prophesy to them smooth things (Is 30:10). The goal of this was to make the people feel good about themselves and their lives. They didn't want to hear about sin and God's discord with their sin.

Too many people have presumed upon the patience and mercy of God. Too many people take God's patience and mercy for granted. Many people feel that they can continue in their sin and that God's mercy will give them another chance or opportunity.

Those that do not know God (that do not have a relationship with Him)  are under His patience and mercy. Not only that, they are under His wrath. According to the Word of God, "God is angry with the wicked every day " (Psalm 7:11). This is not just for the lost person, but also for those who have received Christ and are living in sin to a degree. God does not like sin, God does not approve of sin and God is angry with the wickedness of the world and those who have come to know God and choose to continue in their sin (ref Rom 6:1, 2).

How can we know when the patience of God will run out, and His anger will be poured out against us?

Do you want to be in good standing with God? If you knew that the patience and mercy of God was immediately cut off from you and the wrath of God  were to be poured out on you, what change of mind would you have toward your life in relationship to God?

Those who have been warned about the sin in their life, their need to know God, and the need to give their heart to God, but choose to refuse this and continue in their sin, the sword and bow of God's anger are ready for judgment and aimed at those who will not hear (Psalm 7:12).

When God fires His arrow, it is swift and He will not miss His target! The power of God's anger is against all sinners throughout the world. The power of God and the anger of God are a fearful combination to fall into. No man can grasp the power of God (ref Job 26:14). Those who presume upon the patience of God will face God's wrath and anger. There is no escape from this.

Who can withstand the wrath of God? Who can defend them self against the hand of God?

There is no escape from God. However He takes no pleasure in the death of a sinner, He would rather we chose life (Ezekiel 18:32).

From the Pastor

   "Freedom Worship Center"

Our foundation is laid upon the principles of biblical holiness. Even before the church experienced the outpouring of the Holy Ghost, it's roots were set in the holiness revival of the past century.  It was and is, a holiness church--holiness in fact and holiness in name. The passing of 18 years has not diminished our holiness position or convictions. The years have, instead, strengthened our knowledge that without holiness it is impossible to please God. We hereby remind ourselves that the Scriptures enjoin us at all times to examine our own hearts. Conditions of our day desperately require it. The basic doctrines of the church have remained constant since the inception of the church."

This Is Freedom!

God's law is supreme, however we are to obey the laws of our country insofar as they are not in conflict with obedience to God (Acts 5:29). When it becomes necessary to disagree with practices and requirements of government, we should do so out of a concern for the promotion of righteousness and not out of delight in discord and controversy.
